Dr. Julie A. Alvarez is a Teaching Professor and Director of Master's Programs in Behavioral Health and Psychological Science at Tulane University's Department of Psychology. A licensed clinical neuropsychologist, her research examines neurocognitive aspects of PTSD, executive functions, and psychological assessment methodologies.
Alvarez's meta-analytic work on frontal lobe functions has been widely cited in neuropsychology literature. She has published extensively on neurobehavioral correlates of trauma and complementary approaches to pain management. Honors include the Weiss Presidential Fellowship for Teaching Excellence and recognition as one of New Orleans' top psychology educators.
Her teaching spans neuropsychological assessment, health psychology, and psychological testing at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
