Her ethnomusicological approach examines sonic responses to environmental change, interspecies relationships in musical practices, and decolonial sound methodologies in Latin America. Recent publications address cicada phenomena, zoonotic disease discourses, and posthuman soundscapes.
As a translator, she contributes to Latin American music scholarship through works like Experimentalisms in Practice and Musical Life in Colonial Santiago. Her teaching includes courses on world music, sound studies, and music sustainability.
