Julian Fischer

Julian Fischer is a Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, leading a research group in applied analysis and PDE theory. His work spans stochastic homogenization, interface evolution problems, and entropic reaction-diffusion equations.

Education includes a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. Current research focuses on developing quantitative theories for random materials and analyzing interface dynamics in multiphase systems. Recent projects investigate weak-strong uniqueness principles for fluid interfaces and density fluctuations in particle systems.

Awards include an ERC Starting Grant (2020) for 'Bridging Scales in Random Materials', the ÖMG-Förderungspreis (2020), and the Dr. Körper Prize of the GAMM (2015). Teaching covers specialized topics in PDEs, pattern formation, and mathematical aspects of continuum mechanics.
