Julia Weiner

Julia Weiner is an Associate Professor of Art History and Director (Content) of Liberal Arts at Regent's University London. She holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Diploma in Art History from the Courtauld Institute. Her career spans over 20 years in academia and museums, including roles as Head of Education at the Courtauld Institute Gallery and Curator at the Ben Uri Gallery. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of AICA. Her research focuses on Jewish artists, refugee contributions to UK art, and identity expression in art.

Research interests emphasize Jewish artists' identity, particularly post-Nazi refugee contributions. Current projects include editing Agathe Sorel’s memoirs and planning exhibitions on Naomi Alexander and Bettina Caro. She has curated over 15 exhibitions, including major shows at the Jewish Museum London and Shipley Art Gallery.

Awards include Senior Fellow of the HEA and AICA membership. Her articles span art criticism (Jewish Chronicle, 30 years), academic publishing, and BBC radio documentaries. She teaches courses on Renaissance art, global conflict's impact on art, and media studies.

As a supervisor, she examines MA theses and guides Liberal Arts students. She collaborates internationally, advising study-abroad programs for US/Canadian universities and co-curating transnational exhibitions.
