Julia Lisella is Professor of English at Regis College, teaching American literature, creative writing, and medical humanities courses. She previously taught in Harvard's History and Literature program and is an accomplished poet with published collections including Always, Terrain, and Our Lively Kingdom.
Her scholarship focuses on American women modernists, contemporary multicultural poetry, and literary representations of healing. She recently co-edited Modernist Women Writers and American Social Engagement and has published extensively on feminist literary interventions.
As co-curator of the Italian American Writers Association's Boston Literary Series, she promotes diverse voices in the literary community. Her poetry appears in numerous journals including Alaska Quarterly Review and Beloit Poetry Journal.
