Julia Konstantinovsky

Julia Konstantinovsky is a Tutor in Theology at the Theology Faculty, University of Oxford, and holds the position of Associate Faculty Member. She has been a British Academy Research Fellow at Christ Church, Oxford since 2009, following a Research Fellowship at Wolfson College (2007-2009). She also served as Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Classics and Ancient History, University of Warwick (2008-2009).

Her education includes studies at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and Oriel College, Oxford. Research focuses on Late Antiquity and Byzantium, with specialties in monasticism, Eastern Mediterranean regions (Egypt, Syria, Palestine), textual identities, and religious embodiments. Current projects include analysis of seventh-century religious identity shifts in the Eastern Mediterranean and a critical evaluation of Evagrius Ponticus' Gnostic Chapters, including translation and introduction.

Affiliations include Christ Church College, the Oxford Centre for Late Antiquity, and the Oriental Institute. Key interests extend to historiography, modernity, and Russian religious thought.
