Julia Elliott is a Professor of Women's and Gender Studies and English at Palmetto College, University of South Carolina. She holds a Ph.D. and focuses on Creative Writing, Contemporary Fiction, and interdisciplinary studies in Feminist Theory, Gender, Sexuality, and Horror. Her work has appeared in Tin House, The Georgia Review, and The New York Times.
Her research interests include Feminist Epistemologies, Philosophies of Science, and the intersection of Gender with Horror films. She teaches courses such as Women in Culture, Race, Class, Gender, & Sexuality, and Creative Writing.
Elliott’s debut story collection The Wilds was acclaimed as one of the Best Books of 2014, and her novel The New and Improved Romie Futch was a literary award finalist.
