Julia Brunner

Prof. Dr. Julia Brunner holds the Professorship for Early Childhood Education at the Department of Social Work, Fulda University of Applied Sciences, since 2021. Her work focuses on inclusive education frameworks, professional development of educators, and qualitative methodologies. She has contributed to projects addressing early intervention networks and social environment integration in childcare systems.

Her research examines intersections between disability studies, normalization processes in daycare centers, and theory-practice transfer mechanisms. She serves on the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE) commissions for Early Childhood Education and Social Pedagogy.

Notable recognition includes a 2021 nomination for the UNICUM Foundation's Professor of the Year award in humanities/social sciences. She has led funded projects through internal Fulda University grants and Hessian Ministry collaborations.

Active in research teams since 2014, her work spans longitudinal studies of mother-child interventions and interdisciplinary practice projects. She contributes to the Centre for Society and Sustainability (CeSST) and maintains a focus on vocational education pedagogy.
