Julia Bell

Julia Bell is an Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Texas Tech University's School of Music, where she actively promotes contemporary music through performance and education.

Bell specializes in 21st-century trumpet repertoire and electronics, commissioning new works and performing at prestigious conferences including the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors Conference, International Women's Brass Conference, and International Trumpet Guild Conference. Her research interests intersect music performance, contemporary composition, and arts administration.

Notable achievements:

• Recipient of 2022 National Trumpet Competition Graduate Solo Division third-place award
• Board of Directors member for both the New Works Project and International Women’s Brass Conference
• Performances with Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, and Mediterranean Opera Festival Orchestra

As an educator, Bell has held teaching positions at University of South Alabama and Tarleton State University as sabbatical replacement, while maintaining private studios and directing music camps. She regularly conducts masterclasses and clinics internationally, focusing on expanding brass repertoire accessibility.
