Dr. Julia Beeman is the Chair and Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Belmont Abbey College. She created the Criminal Justice program and co-founded the James Buie Scholarship Program. Her research focuses on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptomology among urban patrol officers and its impact on attitudes toward use of force. She holds a Ph.D. from Nova Southeastern University, with previous degrees from University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College.
