Judy Rohrer

Judy Rohrer is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Department of Gender, Women's & Sexuality Studies at Eastern Washington University. Her expertise includes intersectional feminist responses to contemporary issues, queer studies, and anti-racist, decolonial, and inclusive pedagogy. She holds a PhD and MA in political science from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and a BA from Bryn Mawr College.

Her research focuses on Hawai’i colonial history, critical race theory, and Indigenous studies. Rohrer has held roles such as Director of the Institute for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (ICSR) at Western Kentucky University (2013–2017) and Scholar-in-Residence with the Beatrice Bain Research Group at UC Berkeley (2017–2018). Her work bridges activism and academia, emphasizing decolonial frameworks and intersectional approaches.
