Judith Pace is Professor of Teacher Education at the University of San Francisco's School of Education. Her scholarship examines classroom teaching and curriculum in relation to diversity, democracy, and sociopolitical contexts. She received a Fulbright Global Scholar Award for 2023-2024 to teach and conduct research at teacher education programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and South Africa.
Dr. Pace holds an EdD from Harvard University, CAS from Harvard University, MEd from Lesley College, and BA from Brandeis University. Prior to joining USF, she worked at Harvard Project Zero on educational initiatives and taught in Boston area schools.
Her research focuses on teacher education, social studies education, teaching controversial issues, and classroom relationships within sociopolitical contexts. She has published extensively on democratic teaching practices and curriculum development.
Her publications demonstrate a strong focus on democratic education, controversial issues pedagogy, and cross-cultural teaching strategies across multiple national contexts.
