Judith Ogink

Judith Ogink is a researcher at NHL Stenden and a candidate for the professor doctorate trajectory at the University of Applied Sciences of The Netherlands. She holds a background in Industrial Design Engineering from the Technical University of Delft and has over a decade of experience in commercial product development. Her research focuses on circular design, sustainable materials, and behavioral interventions to reduce plastic waste, particularly in the hospitality sector.

Key research areas include circular plastics applications, life cycle assessments, and waste stream optimization. Projects include developing circular products using ocean plastics, redesigning hospitality industry practices on Terschelling, and creating climate-adaptive solutions from litter. She actively involves students in her projects and delivers lectures.

Judith’s work emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, aiming to bridge design, technology, and behavioral science for systemic sustainability. Her doctoral research explores nudging plastic usage behaviors through circular product design.
