About
Judith N. Mandl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at McGill University. Her research focuses on T cell biology, particularly the mechanisms governing T cell trafficking, immune surveillance, and self/non-self recognition. She employs advanced microscopy techniques to study T cell dynamics in vivo.
Education: Postdoctoral training at the NIH (US), Ph.D. from Emory University (US), and BSc (Hons) from the University of Warwick (UK).
Research Interests: T cell migration mechanisms, T cell receptor repertoire development, immune response to infections, and immunodeficiency pathogenesis. Her work emphasizes understanding how T cell behavior impacts immune system efficacy in health and disease.
Lab Website: jmandl.lab.mcgill.ca. Graduate/postdoctoral positions are currently available.
Notable Contributions: Pioneering studies on DOCK8-dependent T cell migration, mechanisms of T cell self-tolerance, and the role of T cell heterogeneity in infection responses. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges immunology, cell biology, and biophysics.
