Dr. Judith Müller is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University, affiliated with the Heidelberg Center for the Environment and the Department of Geography. She leads the BMBF-funded project 'Food for Justice: Power, Politics and Food Inequalities in a Bioeconomy' (2019-2025). Her work bridges agri-food systems, environmental justice, and postcolonial studies with a focus on Germany and South Asia. She holds a PhD from Heidelberg University (2022) and degrees from the University of Mainz and Umeå University.
Research interests include:
- Intersectional power dynamics in Alternative Food Networks
- Climate adaptation in mountain urban contexts
- Gendered resource governance
- Participatory methodological frameworks
- Environmental citizenship theories
Teaching focuses on urban-rural dichotomies and emancipatory ruralities. Office hours are Thursdays 1:30-2:30pm at HCIAS (Room 105). Active in interdisciplinary research collaborations across Europe and South Asia.
