Judith Farman

Dr Judith Farman is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Whittle Laboratory. She is a Chartered Engineer with over a decade of industrial experience in gas turbines, earth-moving equipment, and wave energy turbines.

• PhD in Oscillating Water Column Modelling (Cranfield University)
• Research focus on tidal turbines, rotating machinery data acquisition, and aero-engine design.

Her research bridges renewable energy systems with advanced engineering design, emphasizing control strategies for tidal turbines and electric propulsion concepts. She has contributed to experimental studies on winglet efficiency and wireless telemetry systems for rotating machinery.

Current work involves collaborations with industry partners and grants from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EP/J010308/1) and the Technology Strategy Board (113007).

Labs & Teams: Active member of the Whittle Laboratory, focusing on turbomachinery and energy systems research at the University of Cambridge.
