Judith E. Bosmans

Prof. Judith E. Bosmans is a Full Professor in the Methodology of Health Technology Assessment at the Faculty of Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). She leads the Health Technology Assessment section and holds a joint appointment in APH - Methodology. Her expertise spans health economics and cost-effectiveness analysis, with a focus on developing methods for economic evaluations using real-world data.

Education: MSc in Medical Informatics (1999), PhD in Health Economics (2006, EMGO Institute). She has supervised 12 PhD theses and teaches at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Her Vidi grant (€800k) supports her research on leveraging real-world data for cost-effectiveness assessments.

Research interests include methodological advancements in economic evaluations, particularly in critical care (e.g., sepsis treatment), pediatrics (e.g., neonatal screening), and obstetrics (e.g., preterm birth prevention). Her work emphasizes translating research into policy to enhance healthcare affordability.
