Judith D. Toms is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta and a senior ecologist/statistician with the Canadian Wildlife Service (Environment and Climate Change Canada). She leads landbird monitoring programs under the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring Program, focusing on mitigating oil sands development impacts on boreal bird populations. She also co-leads the Guánica Avian Monitoring Project in Puerto Rico's International Biosphere Reserve and contributes to the Boreal Avian Modelling Project.

She previously served as Executive Director of the Rocky Point Bird Observatory and operated Eco-Logic Consulting. She plans to begin mentoring graduate students in the near future.
