About
Judit Geller serves as Lecturer at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts since 2024 and Assistant Professor in Photography at Moholy-Nagy University of Arts since 2023. A photo curator, educator, and professional writer since 2000, she actively shapes Hungary's contemporary art discourse through criticism and curation.
Her academic credentials include:
- Horticultural Engineering at Corvinus University of Budapest
- Design Theory at Moholy-Nagy University of Arts
- PhD in Film, Media and Cultural Theory from ELTE (2022)
Research centers on photographic archives, examining private collections, artistic reuse of archival materials, photo book production, and contemporary photography practices. This work manifests through editorial projects and institutional curation rather than traditional academic publishing.
Geller maintains deep institutional engagement as AICA member since 2017, former curator at Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center (2015-2021), and ex-museologist at Museum of Ethnography's MaDok program (2022-2024). She founded the Pécsi József Photography Scholarship Archive and edited Review of Hungarian Photography magazine while contributing regularly to Photography magazine.
