Juan Fernando Galván Reula

Juan Fernando Galván Reula holds the rank of Professor and serves as President of the University of Alcalá's Academic Council. He is affiliated with the Department of Modern Philology at the Universidad de Alcalá. His research focuses on British and Irish literature, postcolonial studies, and metafiction, with a particular emphasis on historical narratives and intertextuality. He has led and participated in multiple research projects funded by national and international bodies, including the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. His work explores themes such as diaspora, cultural identity, and the intersections of literature with history and politics.

His academic leadership includes organizing prestigious events such as the On Writing (and) Race seminar (1997) and serving as principal investigator in projects like Metáforas de la diáspora postcolonial en la Gran Bretaña de finales de siglo (2007). His contributions bridge literary analysis with broader cultural and institutional contexts, emphasizing the role of universities in global knowledge exchange.
