Juan Cianciardo Rocca

Juan Cianciardo Rocca is Full Professor (Catedrático de Universidad) of Public Law and Legal Institutions at the University of Navarra’s School of Law, where he also serves as Assistant Dean and Director of the Master in Human Rights programme.

Research Interests

Professor Cianciardo Rocca’s scholarship lies at the intersection of constitutional theory, human-rights doctrine and legal philosophy. He explores how principles such as proportionality and reasonableness mediate conflicts between fundamental rights in pluralistic societies, with a particular focus on multiculturalism and equality. His work also examines the moral dimensions of legal reasoning and the epistemological foundations of constitutional interpretation.
