Joyce Victor

Joyce Victor is an associate professor in the Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University, recognized as a leading innovator in nursing education. She holds a PhD in Nursing from Duquesne University and has served Wilkes since 2004, initially as director of the Nursing Learning Resource Center, where she pioneered simulation-based education. Her academic roles include assistant professor (2014) and associate professor (2020 tenure).

Victor’s research focuses on healthcare simulation, diversity and inclusion in nursing education, and creative pedagogy. She developed nationally recognized strategies like patho plays, art gallery grand rounds, and telehealth simulations. Her work on simulation design influenced the Standards of Best Practice, and she holds CHSE and CHSE-A certifications.

Awarded the prestigious Carpenter Award for Teaching (2024), she is also a nominee-driven honoree for Wilkes’ highest teaching honor. Her educational background includes bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, health administration, and creative writing from Wilkes, blending clinical expertise with humanities-driven teaching methods.
