Joyce Dalsheim is Professor of Global Studies at UNC Charlotte, specializing in cultural anthropology with regional expertise in Israel/Palestine. She earned her doctorate at The New School for Social Research and has held fellowships including Rockefeller (Notre Dame) and Lady Davis (Hebrew University). Research interrogates social categories through ethnographic fieldwork, examining nationalism, sovereignty, and identity conflicts.
Publications critically examine Israeli settlement projects, peacemaking challenges, and the historical 'Jewish Question' within contemporary contexts. Authored books include Unsettling Gaza (2011), Producing Spoilers (2014), and Israel Has a Jewish Problem (2019).
