Dr. Joy Myers is a faculty member and the Director of On-Campus and Paraprofessional Teaching Fellows at the College of Education, James Madison University. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Missouri State University, M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction and Teacher Educational Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her professional interests focus on Pre-service and in-service professional development, Elementary Literacy, and Teacher Research.
Dr. Myers has extensive experience in elementary education, having spent 7 years in North Carolina as a first, fourth, and sixth-grade teacher, followed by roles as an assistant principal and Academic Unit Head at JMU. She currently leads the Teaching Fellows program, contributing to teacher education initiatives.
