Joule Bergerson is the Richard and Ellen Stanley Professor of Energy Systems Engineering and Faculty Director of ND Energy at the University of Notre Dame. She leads interdisciplinary research at the intersection of energy technology assessment and public policy.
- Education: B.Sc. in Chemistry and Environmental Science (University of Western Ontario), M.A.Sc. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering (University of Toronto), Ph.D. in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy (Carnegie Mellon University)
Her research focuses on comprehensive energy systems analysis, emphasizing life cycle assessment and policy implications of emerging energy technologies. As a Government of Canada Research Chair, her work has shaped national energy strategies and sustainability frameworks.
