José Bonet Solves

José Bonet Solves is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, and a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (Madrid). He served as Director of the Instituto Universitario de Matemática Pura y Aplicada (UPV) from 2004 to 2016 and as President of the Exact Sciences Section of the Royal Academy from 2018 to 2024.

• Research Focus: Functional Analysis, Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, and applications to Linear Partial Differential Operators. His work explores Fréchet spaces, spaces of analytic and quasianalytic functions, and operators between these spaces.
• Education: PhD in Mathematics (1980) from the University of Valencia under Manuel Valdivia Ureña.
• Academic Roles: Assistant Professor (1977–1983) and Full Professor (1987–present) at Polytechnic University of Valencia; Visiting Professor at the University of Paderborn (1989, 2002).
• Scientific Awards: Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, Medal of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (2016), and multiple academic excellence awards during his studies.
• Leadership: Directed the Prometeo Excellence Research Project (2008–2021) and organized international conferences in Functional Analysis.
