Josiah Ellner

Josiah Ellner is a Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), teaching courses in Figure Drawing and Painting. He holds an MFA in painting and drawing from SAIC and a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His artistic practice focuses on themes of nature, human interaction with the environment, and figurative expression, often employing oil paint and mixed media.

Ellner’s work has been exhibited through platforms like OtherPeoplesPixels and Instagram, with notable pieces such as Now Entering Hyperspace (2023), Ice-Sick-Le (2023), and works in the Works on Paper series (2021–2022). His art explores surreal and symbolic imagery, blending realism with imaginative narratives.
