Dr. Joshua Wright is a Senior Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Aberdeen's School of Geosciences. He holds a BA from Vassar College, an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. His research focuses on East Asian and Mongolian archaeology, particularly the study of monumentality, mobility, and pastoralist economies. He has led major projects like the Egiin Gol Survey (Mongolia) and contributed to initiatives such as the Chengdu Plain Archaeological Survey (China).
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating courses on prehistoric archaeology, East Asian archaeology, and Eurasian archaeology. He supervises PhD students focusing on regional landscape studies, East Asian archaeology, and mobile pastoralism.
