About
Joshua Sutherland is a Research Assistant at the School of Engineering, University of Newcastle, affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Enabling Eco-Efficient Beneficiation of Minerals. He contributes to mineral beneficiation projects with a focus on hydrodynamics and separation technologies.
- Education: Bachelor and PhD in Chemical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Newcastle (2013, 2019).
His research centers on mineral processing, particularly recovery of valuable and critical minerals using froth flotation and gravity separation. Recent work explores full-scale applications of the REFLUX™ flotation cell, demonstrating efficient coal processing at high flux rates and ultra-fine particle recovery via novel oil-agglomeration techniques.
