Joshua Rodenberg is an Assistant Professor and Head of Innovative Media Studios at VCUarts Qatar. He holds a BS from the University of Southern Indiana and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. His work spans sound and video art, immersive installations, and emerging media, emphasizing audiovisual manipulation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Research interests include sound sculpture, digital media, and experimental film. He has exhibited widely, including solo shows at Capital One Extended Media Gallery (2019) and Anderson Gallery (2018), and group exhibitions like Visual Textures (2014) and Animal Mineral Vegetable (2012). Key projects include the Arctic Circle Artist Residency (2024) and collaborations on Coapan En Espera (2019) and Tsenacommacha (2020).
Rodenberg received the VCU Quest Fund grant (2024) and has earned awards like Best in Show at the Regional College Art Juried Competition (2014). His work bridges technical innovation and artistic expression, seen in VR games, mobile apps, and sound design for films like Federico Cuatlacuatl’s Tiemperos (2024).
