Joshua R. Moon

Dr. Joshua R. Moon is a Senior Research Fellow in Health & Research Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) within the University of Sussex Business School. His research bridges biosecurity and the sociology of scientific knowledge, with expertise spanning epidemic/pandemic preparedness, chemical/biological security, and international health policy evaluation.

Research Interests: Dr. Moon's work focuses on the intersection of science policy and global challenges. Key areas include:

• Pandemic preparedness & response systems
• Biosecurity risks of emerging technologies
• Transdisciplinary research methodologies
• Health policy evaluation frameworks
• Science-policy interfaces in security regimes

Publication analysis reveals sustained focus on crisis governance, with recent work examining AI's implications for biosecurity frameworks and comparative studies of pandemic response systems across 6 countries. Earlier scholarship established foundations in research evaluation metrics and global health partnerships.
