Joshua Nelson-Ichido

Joshua Nelson-Ichido is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Central Washington University. He teaches courses in intercultural and interpersonal communication and applies research to real-world contexts like accounting consultancy. Office hours for Spring 2025 are:

• Monday & Wednesday: 11am-12pm
• Tuesday & Thursday: 1pm-2pm

Dr. Nelson-Ichido graduated from CWU’s Communication Studies and Japanese Foreign Language programs, lived and worked in Japan for two years, and earned his MA at San Diego State University and PhD at Michigan State University.

His research emphasizes intercultural and interpersonal communication dynamics, particularly in professional and applied settings. He bridges academic theory with practical communication strategies, drawing from his consultancy experience in the accounting field.
