Joshua Meltzer is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne Law School, where he teaches digital trade law. He co-leads the Forum on Cooperation in AI (FCAI) and directs the USMCA initiative, focusing on North American economic cooperation. His work bridges digital technology, international trade, and data governance. Previously, he served as a diplomat at the Australian Embassy in Washington D.C. and as an international trade negotiator in Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Professional Roles: In addition to his academic roles, he teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Law School and contributes to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s diplomatic academy.
