Joshua Jarrett

Joshua Jarrett is Senior Lecturer in digital media and game studies at Staffordshire University's School of Digital, Technologies, Innovation and Business. His research focuses on game cultures, esports ecosystems, and internet studies, utilizing qualitative methods including online ethnography.

Jarrett examines co-creative cultures in games like League of Legends, modding communities, and streaming platforms. He has published on game balance, esports governance, and the political economy of gaming. Current research explores sustainable value distribution in esports and player experiences at grassroots events.

He supervises MA and PhD students on games-related projects and has served as interim course director for BA Esports. Jarrett collaborates with esports event organizers and maintains professional memberships in digital games research associations.
