Joshua Goodman

Joshua Goodman is an Associate Professor of Education and Economics at Boston University, jointly appointed in the Department of Economics and the Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. His research focuses on the economics of education policy, particularly postsecondary education, STEM coursework, and the impact of the pandemic on schooling. He holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, an MPhil in Education from Cambridge University, and a BA in Physics from Harvard University.

He serves as co-editor of the Journal of Human Resources and is an affiliate of NBER, CESifo, and the Wheelock Educational Policy Center. His work has been published in top journals like the Quarterly Journal of Economics and American Economic Review, and has been featured in major media outlets including the New York Times and the Washington Post. Recent research includes analyzing pandemic-driven shifts in school enrollment patterns and the long-term effects of educational interventions.
