Joshua E. Lambert

Joshua E. Lambert is a Courtesy Research Associate at the University of Central Florida (UCF), affiliated with the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs within the College of Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Security Studies and has over a decade of experience solving social and computational challenges. His research focuses on conflict analysis, environmental policy, and machine learning applications in political science. Lambert’s doctoral work explored forecasting civil-military relations, and he has contributed to over 10 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and popular articles.

He has held roles as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at an S&P 500 company and currently provides AI consulting services, specializing in NLP and machine learning model deployment. Notable projects include building a fisheries conflict database for One Earth Future and developing an ML/NLP pipeline that reduced timelines by 6 weeks for a client. Lambert has won the 2017 Florida Political Science Association’s Best Graduate Paper Award for work on security studies.

His expertise bridges computational methods with political and environmental issues, emphasizing interdisciplinary solutions. He offers training workshops on advanced ML/NLP for diverse audiences and collaborates with NGOs, political campaigns, and private-sector entities on data-driven strategies.
