Joshua Costin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education at NOVA Southeastern University's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine. Holding a Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from Tulane University, his academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology with a Chemistry minor from Florida State University.
His research focuses span virology, immunology, and microbiome-nutrition interactions, with notable work on HIV and flaviviruses like dengue virus. He has also pioneered pedagogical research in microbiology teaching modalities and directs multiple courses across NSU MD programs, including Medical Microbiology for Optometry and Medical Nutrition for MD students.
