Josephine Tan

Dr. Josephine Tan is a Professor at Lakehead University's Department of Psychology and a registered clinical psychologist (C.Psych.) in Ontario. She holds academic qualifications including an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of New Brunswick.

• Research Focus: Health issues examined through cultural, gender, and systemic lenses, with current projects on depression, self-harm behaviors, and northern health disparities.
• Clinical Practice: Works with adults, children, families, and First Nations communities using cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and systemic therapeutic approaches.
• Academic Leadership: Supervises the Collaborative Graduate Program with Specialization in Women's Studies, integrating interdisciplinary perspectives into her mentorship.
