Dr. Josephine Jahn serves as a Researcher at Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development (HNEE) since 2023, working within the InNoWest consortium on sustainable digitalization initiatives for rural communities in North and West Brandenburg. Her role focuses on needs analysis, sustainability integration, and stakeholder engagement for municipal digital transformation projects.
She earned her Magister degree in Sociology and Human Geography from the University of Potsdam (2005-2011) followed by a PhD at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (2012-2016), where she investigated collaborative practices among diverse medical sciences in Berlin-Buch under the theme of translational medicine.
Her research centers on Sustainable Development through the synergistic application of Sustainability principles and Digitalization technologies. She actively cultivates Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Cooperation frameworks while advancing Knowledge Transfer methodologies and strategic Network Building to address complex sustainability challenges. Current work in the InNoWest project develops ecological and socially conscious digital tools including environmental sensor networks, municipal data visualization platforms, and open-source AI chatbots.
Based at HNEE's Stadtcampus (Schicklerstrasse 5, Room 65.211), Dr. Jahn contributes to the Research Center for Sustainability Transfer Transformation and the sustainable digitalization team. The InNoWest project (2023-2027) specifically targets strengthening rural municipal services through digital applications that enhance both ecological integrity and community quality of life.
