Joseph P.D. Stiefel

Joseph P.D. Stiefel serves as President and Professor of Clinical Sciences at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS), leading both academic and administrative operations across Illinois and Florida campuses since his inauguration on June 22, 2013.

• BS in Biology and Pre-Medicine (Double Minor: Chemistry and Classic Cultures) from Ball State University (1995)
• BS, DC, and MS in Diagnostic Imaging from National University of Health Sciences (2002, 2004, 2007)

Dr. Stiefel specializes in diagnostic imaging and integrative medicine, with research interests spanning chiropractic primary care models, evidence-based healthcare systems, and interdisciplinary medical education. His work focuses on redefining healthcare delivery through collaborative specialty integration, conservative care protocols, and cost-effective treatment frameworks. He pioneered NUHS's diagnostic imaging residency program and developed analytical databases for predicting academic success in chiropractic programs.

As an administrator, Dr. Stiefel built NUHS's Florida campus from inception, negotiating its placement within St. Petersburg College's University Partnership Center. He previously served as Dean of the College of Professional Studies (Florida) and Assistant to the Vice Presidents, where he overhauled university policies and educational law frameworks. His leadership emphasizes training physicians for leadership roles in evolving healthcare landscapes, with strong advocacy for science-based learning and patient-centered integrative care models.
