Joseph K. Vargo

Joseph K. Vargo serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Dental College of Georgia, Augusta University. He earned his DMD from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his Master's in Orthodontics & Craniofacial Biology at West Virginia University following his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Washington & Jefferson College.

Dr. Vargo's research focuses on the intersection of facial aesthetics and patient psychology in orthodontic treatment, particularly examining how facial attractiveness ratings correlate with patient motivation for surgical interventions. His clinical expertise encompasses surgical orthodontics, maxillary expansion techniques, and treatment of craniofacial deformities.

At the Dental College of Georgia, Dr. Vargo teaches a comprehensive curriculum including Advanced Diagnostics, Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment, Craniofacial Deformities, and Surgical Orthodontics courses. His scholarly work demonstrates a consistent focus on patient-centered outcomes in surgical orthodontics spanning nearly three decades.
