Dr. Joseph Jones is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Teacher Education at Valdosta State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Teaching, Curriculum, and Change from the University of Rochester and holds a B.S.Ed. in Secondary Education (English Education) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His scholarly work bridges identity, power, and school culture, focusing on systemic ideologies that shape educational inequities.
Research Interests: Grounded in Michel Foucault's frameworks, his research explores qualitative methodologies such as ethnography, narrative inquiry, and relational pedagogy to address educational inequities in P-12 settings.
