Dr. Joseph John Viscomi is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Historical Studies at Birkbeck, University of London, and serves as the Birkbeck Director of the Raphael Samuel History Centre. He specializes in Mediterranean history and anthropology, focusing on migration, environment, and temporality. His research examines Italian and Egyptian interconnections, depopulation in Southern Italy, and cross-disciplinary methodologies.
