Joseph Iacovazzi

Joseph Iacovazzi, Ph.D., serves as Chair of Biological and Physical Sciences and Mathematics, Assistant Professor of Biology, and Program Director of Environmental Biology and Environmental Studies at the Turock School of Arts and Sciences, Keystone College. His research focuses on host-parasite interactions in caterpillars and parasitoid wasps, as well as arachnid population surveys in the American Southwest. He teaches courses in Botany, Evolution, Herpetology, Mammalogy, Spiders and Arachnids, Wetland and Riparian Ecology, Wildlife and Fisheries Biology.

• M.S. in Marine Biology, Nova Southeastern University (2012)
• Ph.D. in Biological Sciences: Ecology, Evolution, & Behavior (EEB Track), Binghamton University (2023)

Professional Activities: Dr. Iacovazzi has conducted genetics laboratory work, interned with reptiles/amphibians at the West Palm Beach Zoo, and maintains lifelong interests in arthropod husbandry. Recent outreach includes wildlife biology presentations at Lackawanna State Park, Riverside schools, North Pocono schools, and Old Forge elementary schools (2023–2024).

Research Interests: Host-manipulation behavior in caterpillar-wasp systems, arachnid biodiversity, and conservation strategies for invertebrate species. His work bridges laboratory-based parasite-host studies with field surveys of arthropod ecosystems.
