Joseph Coll is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Iowa and his B.A. from Buena Vista University.
His research critically examines American electoral democracy, focusing on racial biases in election administration, perceptions of voter fraud, and support for democratic norm violations. His work intersects with political behavior, public policy, and racial/ethnic politics.
Dr. Coll has published over twenty peer-reviewed works in journals such as Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and Public Opinion Quarterly. He co-authored a textbook chapter in Politics in the American States (2025) and edited a volume on the 2020 U.S. elections during the COVID-19 pandemic.
