Joseph Albanesi is a Professor at UT Southwestern, where he has been a faculty member since 1987. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Duke University (1980) and completed postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health. His work focuses on membrane vesiculation mechanisms, particularly the role of dynamin and phosphoinositide kinases in secretory vesicle biogenesis and trafficking.
Research Interests:
- Dynamin-mediated membrane fission
- Phosphoinositide lipid regulation
- Synaptic vesicle recycling
- Golgi apparatus budding
