- Education:
- B.S. in Biochemistry from Princeton University
- MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
- Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center
- Neuroradiology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine
Dr. Maldjian’s research bridges neuroimaging and clinical applications, emphasizing deep learning for brain tumor analysis, MEG in epilepsy, and computational modeling of head impact exposure in youth sports. Recent publications highlight his work on IDH mutation classification via MRI, ASL reproducibility, and MEG-fMRI integration for traumatic brain injury.
His scientific awards include the 2017 Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research Distinguished Investigator Award and 2019 Inaugural Fellow of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology. He is a founding member of the Texas Society of Neuroradiology (2024) and actively contributes to NIH study sections and editorial boards of journals like Radiology and NeuroImage. Dr. Maldjian’s lab (ANSIR) specializes in large-scale neuroimaging data processing and multi-modal analysis of brain tumors and traumatic injuries.
