About
Josep Prat is a Full Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), affiliated with the Signal Theory and Communications Department and the Optical Communications Group. He holds a M.S. in Telecommunications Engineering (1987) and a Ph.D. (1995) from UPC. His research focuses on broadband optical communications, emphasizing high bit-rate systems, access networks, and WDM transmission design. He led the FP7 European project SARDANA (2011-2015) and participated in multiple EU initiatives on optical networks.
