Josep Larriba Pey

Josep Larriba Pey is a Professor in the Department of Computer Architecture at the Faculty of Computer Science (FIB) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He leads the DAMA-UPC Data Management Group and maintains active affiliations with multiple research centers including GREO (Optical Engineering Research Group), CD6 (Center for Development of Sensors, Instrumentation and Systems), CER-AMA (Advanced Mobility and Automation Research Center), and MOPT (Optical Metrology).

His research spans Data Management, Graph Databases, Database Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Information Retrieval, Data Privacy, and Transportation Systems. Professor Larriba Pey has pioneered efficient graph database technologies, optimization algorithms for complex systems, and practical AI applications across multiple domains.
