Professor Josef Syka is a distinguished academic affiliated with Charles University's 1st Medical Faculty and the Institute of Experimental Medicine ASCR, where he served as Director of the Department of Auditory Neuroscience until 2001. He has held prominent leadership roles, including Chairman of the Czech Republic's Grant Agency (2000-2008) and Deputy Prime Minister for Research and Development (1993-2000).
